Hundreds of churches
across America have used Artech Church Interiors on-site
pew upholstery system. Adding new upholstery
or replacing worn upholstery takes only a few days in most
cases and there is no disruption of services. Any size or style
of pew - curved or straight - can be redone by Artech's specialists.
You can have upholstered seats only, seat & backs or seat,
back and the rear done.
The exclusive Artech system assures long-lasting quality without
warping or sagging.
We will take it one step further than our competition. Prior
to the pew upholstery if any repairs are needed we can do the
necessary work followed by a light refinishing on the wood parts,
all done on-site. This process truly brings the look of the
pews back to new.
You can be sure that your on-site upholstery will make old pews look and
feel as if they were new.

A waterfall effect
at the front of a pew is more comfortable & retains
its appearance for many years. We do this with a special stretching
tool that will give a smooth appearance & guarantees no
wrinkled upholstering. We use virgin polyurethane foam for our
cushioning material (1" for back and 2" or 3" for
seat). The polyurethane will retain its elasticity, is non-absorbent & is non-allergenic.
This is the same cushioning material used in the manufacturing
of new pews.
We also use 100% nylon scotchguard treated fabrics. The same
fabrics used in the manufacturing of new pews. Scotchguard
treatment is immersion applied, not just sprayed on. The back
upholstering stops at the cap rail like new pews. There is
a tacking strip at the cap rail to assure the back upholstery
is in a perfect straight line with no uncomfortable upholstery
buttons that will eventually break loose.
We tuck the fabric
well under the bottom and apply at least two rows of staples
to prevent the fabric from working loose. There
is a tacking strip on each end that allows us to stretch the
fabric both vertically & horizontally to prevent wrinkles.
